Cable Connector Checklist

ALWAYS CHECK THIS LIST DURING ASSEMBLY - THIS CHECKLIST IS IN ORDER

• [x] Pre-solder preparations
  • [x] Slide the locking sleeve down the cable
  • [x] Slide the epoxy mold down the cable
  • [x] Roughen the interior of the connector housing with a Dremel or similar and clean with acetone
  • [x] Slide the connector housing down the cable
• [ ] Solder preparations
  • [x] Strip 2cm of outer wire sheath
  • [x] Strip 5-6mm of inner wire sheath
  • [x] Tin the final 5-6mm of inner wires to make them rigid - avoid clumps of solder
  • [ ] Check the pinouts from Blue Trail Engineering
  • [ ] Note the perspective on the pinouts from Blue Trail Engineering (you will be soldering a mirror image of the PDF from the back side of the connector)
• [ ] Post-solder checks and preparations
  • [ ] Check continuity between both ends of the cable
  • [ ] Roughen the final 3cm of the cable with sandpaper and clean with acetone
  • [ ] Prevent cable strain on the cable from now until the epoxy has hardened
• [ ] Pressing
  • [ ] Prevent cable strain throughout this process
• [ ] Post-pressing
  • [ ] Check continuity between both ends of the cable
  • [ ] If thingy is stuck, do not attempt to remove until epoxy is cured
