BlueROV Summer Plan
High-level: Meet competition compliance, get the hydrophone (including software) working, complete all physical hardware/integration before the end of the summer to focus exclusively on software/electrical work before competition (during the fall.)
Software simulation: port BlueROV into our simulation software (simulation stack).

-
FIX: (Before the start of Summer Semester 2026) [RE: ]
- ROV's front port thruster runs/turns when using depth hold at water’s surface
- Joysticks in QGroundControl need to be rebound.
-
ADD: (Before the end of Summer Semester 2026)
- To plan for any new electronics unable to fit in the main tube to fit in a new identical watertight tube/end caps, ordered 5/6/26 by @Samuel.
-
Penetrator holes in the electronics enclosure are limited — need to count and diagram current electrical connections and plan for future ones going forward
- Also buy new penetrators/caps if we don't have many

- Possible connections include
- Does anyone have any comments regarding these/anything I’ve missed?
- Estop [RE: @Thalia @Em Paul] (FINISH this by start of Fall 26)
-
The estop (physically controlled) and Presto II (remote e-stop and indicator lights) boards do need to be added and soldered
-
Progress on the physical e-stop mechanism?
- Indicator lights [RE: RESPONSIBLE ENGINEER(S)] (FINISH this by start of Fall 26)
- all of this needs to just only be installed
- Hydrophone [RE: Aaron/with assistance from @Thomas Devlin] (FINISH mounting and make any further possible progress by start of Fall 26)
- if necessary, get CAD Model
- make model holder/bracket (@James Pope still needs to decide where this will be mounted/attached, this also applies to the following modules)
- needs ROS driver/software work
- “Infrastructure Survey & Repair” magnet design task [RE: RESPONSIBLE ENGINEER(S)](FINISH majority of mechanical design by start of Fall 26)
- Create mount for magnetic probes (something long and not super rigid/easily breakable to hold the magnet near the pipe)
- BlueROV detachable tether concept (BlueROV side) [RE: @Shrey Patel]
- Mechanical conceptualization in progress - design review ASAP
- Note that we do have this component thingy it may be helpful:

-
Battery Switch Kit Install
Check BleuBoat switch; this is not currently available for purchase
- Switch obtained
-
BlueROV2 Payload Skid [RE: @James Pope]
-
Miscellaneous Testing/Work for over the summer/right before or after it; maybe for when the rebound controller is tested with the BlueROV/thrusters in the water next [RE: @Aaron Wu as necessary]
