Notes for Shailen
- This is a very open ended project - pretty much the requirements is that it attaches to the deck in some way
- I would recommend selecting the type and number of cameras first (defintely ask robosub and robotx people about what you should look for) and then designing the mount
- Thomas recommended just using two stationary cameras pointing on either side of the bow becuase using a gimbal adds extra complexity
- Right now I think the best way to attach to the deck is to drill holes into the acylic and then bolt into them, the same way the electrical box is attached now
Design Requirements
- Camera(s) should have the view to see any obstable the boat would it going forward or turning
- Camera(s) should be able to see in color, but don’t necessarily need to have good low light performance
- Reasonable resolution and FPS specs, enough to run basic CV models to detect obstacles/targets
