- Leading theory: Buck/boost converters do not have soft start – initial voltage spike slowly degraded and eventually killed the Jetson
- Carrier board and Jetson are both dead
- Failure mode: over voltage, overcurrent
- Prevention:
- Ensure voltage at/after buck converters
- Output fewer volts (go from 19 to 15 V, which will slightly decrease performance but prevent future over-voltage)
- Buck converter worked with nook but was not designed for Jetson
