Shirt Distribution Policy

Note: Students in the class section are not required to purchase a shirt - they may do so at the standard purchasing rate if they would like. Competitions are not required class activities, so students in the class section who are going to competition may be required to purchase shirts by the competition team.

Standard Shirts

Standard Tee

The standard Tee is a navy T-shirt that does not display sponsors or have a year attached to it (starting in 2025). It displays the organization wordmark with text “MARINE ROBOTICS GROUP AT GEORGIA TECH” on the front. The front of the shirt should not change between years. The sleeve displays the Georgia Tech logo. The back of the shirt represents vehicles in current use by the organization at large. The purpose of this shirt is to be a casual uniform in case of competitions and events, as well as group photos.

Purchasing:

• Due to the use of Georgia Tech trademarks, this design must go through an officially licensed Georgia Tech vendor.
• Standard tees should be bought in bulk based on rough approximations of demand.

Distribution by category:

• Members of MRG RSO
  • Dues-paying members receive the standard shirt without additional cost in their first semester in the organization
• GRAs
  • GRAs are able to purchase a standard shirt at-cost
• Advisors
  • Advisor shirts are recommended to be subsidized by club dues
• Other
  • Returning dues-paying members and external people interested in purchasing shirts can do so at ~1.5x of at-cost of shirts (pick a nice number). This is to be done after an effort has been made for distributing shirts to dues-paying members. This provides fundraising in addition to dues.

Standard Polo

The standard polo has not yet been fully defined. It should have a design on the front and potentially on the sleeve. The purpose of this shirt is to be a formal uniform in case of presentations.
