Several components on the WAM-V require significant clearance from the tray. For instance, the light tower should be easily visible from all angles. Both the GPS and radio antennas benefit from clear views of the sky and base station respectively. These views are guaranteed by raising the components above other components.

A tower system was designed for stiffness, adaptability, and adjustability. The towers mount to the 8020 rail system on the WAM-V tray and accept standard 1” schedule 40 PVC pipe. The pipes for each tower were cut to length according to the needs of the mounted component.

Adapters appropriate for each component were designed to mount to the top of each tower.
